Active Roles in Disease Prevention
Academic institutions can have play major role in disease prevention for women in many ways they can:
- carry out clinical studies
- carry clinical research
- have disease education
- have cancer education
- create healthcare training programs
- create community outreach programs
- have or make a range of education materials
- set up evaluations and assessments
These are just to name a few of the many different active preventions any academic institution can make as interventions for preventive disease care and self-management or self-healthcare precautions. It is easy start preventative measures or precaution within a university or any other school because this is where everyone learns and absorbs the most knowledge since most of the day is spent there. It would be simple to educate everyone that wants to know or is willing to hear about risks, diseases, preventative measures, healthy lifestyles, lifestyle changes, and have an array of programs or guides to ensure information is getting across to individuals. Even if one person or a few people know they will pass on knowledge to others. There can also be flyers, handouts, after school programs, weekend programs, and community-based programs made to catch all women attention or others that can pass it on to or help them.

I do agree that the best way to prevent the desease is to educate women and others who are willing to know the risk of heart disease I also find out from your reading that research can also be done. I think you have provided all the sources that will provide the knowledge of the disease to the community.

I did not think of all those options an academic institution had available. Good thinking! I do believe that they play a very important role in getting new or old information out there for students to educate themselves with.
