Future on the brain

Of course thinking of the future or having it on the back of everyone’s mind, people would live very differently.

  • First of all they would think of eating less greasy, fatty, or fast foods. This would cause clearer skin, less to no heart disease, and health problems.
  • All this would help people live longer, healthy, and happy lives.
  • It would possibly have the world happier in a better way.
  • Next more people would have less of a live for today mentality. This would help people to be nicer to one another and thinking about others not only themselves.
  • The thought of giving more chances for other individuals or chances to do more things in a lifetime would come to mind rather than seizing the day.
  • Another advantage would be that more individuals would exercise younger and make it last daily so that it would help health and heart problems later on.
  • More teens would likely have protected sex or continue abstinence. Helping keep teens younger, healthier, and able to live more of a teenage life rather than growing up too fast like today.
  • This also aids in keeping down population rates and having more high school and college graduates.

I agree that some people might change their lifestyles but others would not. I think that is because our society would still be the same fast-paced society that we have today. Hopefully people will take more precautions on their health and learn to live a healthier lifestyle. I think it will still be a hard effort because of the way our society is today.

Your comment about the "live for today mentality" is hitting the nail, right on the head. And to think we could not only be healthier but be nice to one another too makes this seem like an even better idea. But how to get people to think like this just seems impossible. The difference it could make in people's lives is unmatched by any medication options, exercise plan, or mental game they might play. Yet year after year, life after life, human beings just can’t seem to get past the need to maximize today and never think about tomorrow. They are unwilling to do it or they just don’t get it. I still think about the millions of abortions and the babies that are gone...just because women would not give them a chance to have a future of their own…to think about tomorrow. And the list goes on and on...

I agree that lifestyles will change if we knew what happened in the future. It always seems that people don't seriously concentrate on their health unless they know they are sick or about to get sick. I wish all people would take care of themselves, but it is hard with all the junk food, fast food, television, etc. Basically, there is too much to eat and people who are too lazy to go to the gym. If people could see the future, their lifestyles would change significantly.
